Introduction to DBE Dibasic Ester
DBE dibasic ester is a non-toxic, colorless and transparent liquid with a slight aromatic smell. It is a biodegradable and environmentally friendly high-boiling point solvent. DBE has a high boiling point and strong solubility. It has a high evaporation rate during the entire coating drying process. It is very uniform. This characteristic is beneficial to the coating to obtain better leveling and gloss, and eliminate surface defects such as fogging, pinholes, and shrinkage cavities. It is widely used in the coating industry (coating universal solvent) and other fields. In addition, it can also be used as a cleaning agent, paint remover, casting core adhesive and organic synthesis intermediate, etc. It can fully or partially replace toluene, xylene, acetone, MEK, IPA, EAC, BAC, PMA and other solvents.
Main uses of DBE dibasic ester:
It is widely used in coil coating, baking paint, tinplate coating, automotive coating, instrument coating, ink industry, resin industry, insulating paint, electrical appliances and metal furniture coating. In addition, it can also be used as a cleaning agent, paint stripper, casting core adhesive, electronic industry flux and organic synthesis intermediate.
1. Coil coating: DBE can help maintain the balance of volatilization speed, avoid defects caused by paint film explosion and over-baking due to too fast volatilization speed, give the coating a smooth appearance, improve toughness and post-processing, and enhance the hiding power of the pigment.
2. Baking paint industry: DBE has special volatility. As the temperature rises, its volatilization speed increases faster than other solvents, that is, the volatilization speed is slow in the first half and fast in the second half, which is more conducive to drying.
3. Container/can coatings: DBE can effectively replace isophorone, propylene glycol ether, and ethylene glycol ether acetate solvents in can and container coatings. The high solubility and low volatility of DBE can make the coating have good leveling properties. It can improve the flexibility, adhesion and other important properties of the coating.
4. Automobile coatings: It can be used in various automobile coatings and different resin systems. 9. Application in polymers and chemical intermediates: DBE can be used as an organic synthesis intermediate.
