It is used as a viscosity stabilizer and to increase the hardness of polymers. 2,2'-Ethylenebis-(4,5,6,7-tetrabromophthalimide) can be used in the production of polystyrene with styrene and diphenyl ether. This product also has a high resistance to thermally induced reactions.
