2-fluoro-6-hydroxybenzoate methyl ester is a medical intermediate, which can be made from gallic acid as raw material, processed by methanol esterification and dimethyl sulfate etherification to trimethyl ether substituted methyl benzoate, and then acted with ZnCl2/CH3CH2COOH compound reagent to selectively demethyl ether. Methyl 2-fluoro-6-hydroxybenzoate was obtained in higher yield.
