PPS fiber is made from polyphenylene sulfide through melt spinning, with a melting point of 285°C. Amber color, strength 0.18~0.26N/tex, elongation 25%~35%, initial modulus 2.65~3.53N/tex. It has good heat resistance and is mainly used as high-temperature filter fabric, with a temperature resistance of up to 190°C. The fiber also has excellent resistance to chemical agents and hydrolysis, as well as flame retardant properties. It can be used as flame retardant fabrics, home decoration fabrics, flue gas filter materials, etc.
Excellent physical and chemical properties of PPS fiber products
① Excellent heat resistance: It has excellent strength, rigidity and fatigue resistance at high temperatures. It retains 90% of its strength after 2000 hours in high-temperature air at 204°C and 60% of its strength after 1000 hours in high-temperature air at 260°C. Strength, it can be used continuously for 30,000 hours under the working conditions of coal-fired power plants at 170°C.
② Superior corrosion resistance: The chemical corrosion resistance of PPS fiber is similar to that of polytetrafluoroethylene, known as the "King of Plastics", and can resist the erosion of acids, alkalis, chlorinated hydrocarbons, hydrocarbons, ketones, alcohols, esters and other chemicals. Insoluble in any chemical solvent at 200℃.
③ Excellent flame retardant performance: The limiting oxygen index is 34 to 36. It can reach the UL-94V-0 standard without adding any flame retardants. The flame retardancy of aircraft cabin materials has been tested and analyzed by the Civil Aviation Administration of China Test Center. , in line with the requirements of CCAR 25.853(d) and ABD0031(7-4).
④ Excellent electrical properties: dielectric constant 3.9~5.1, dielectric strength (breakdown voltage strength) 13~17kV/mm, and its volume resistivity is 4×1016Ω·cm. The surface resistivity is 8×1015Ω, the electrical strength is >18kv/mm, and it can still maintain good insulation under conditions such as high temperature, high humidity, and frequency conversion.
⑤ Good physical properties: The strength, elongation and elasticity of PPS are equivalent to those of polyester, and its insulation against gamma rays and neutron radiation is better than polyamide and polyester.
