5-Formylfuran-2-boronic acid is a compound that has been shown to be used in the synthesis of Pd complexes. This compound was found to inhibit the soluble guanylate cyclase and sirtuin 2 enzyme. It also has been shown to have anti-cancer effects, as it may inhibit cancer cell proliferation.

 

5-Formylfuran-2-boronic acid has been shown to increase the transport properties of potassium dichromate, which may be due to its acidic nature. This red fluorescent compound is soluble in organic solvents and can be activated by light. The optimum concentration of 5-Formylfuran-2-boronic acid is 3 mM in an acidic solution at room temperature.
