Introduction and application of CAS 103-47-9 | CHES| 2-(Cyclohexylamino)ethanesulfonic acid
(N-Cyclohexylamino)ethanesulfonic acid (CAS: 987-41-5) is a cationic polymerization agent that is used in the treatment of infectious diseases. It is an antiviral agent that inhibits replication of influenza virus by binding to nucleic acids, inhibiting RNA synthesis and blocking the protein translation.
The reaction solution contains a cationic polymerization agent and a biological sample such as human serum, urine samples, or cell culture. The detection sensitivity can be increased by using a type strain of influenza virus in the reaction solution. The receptor binding with virus particles can also be increased by adding growth factors such as interleukin-2.
N-Cyclohexyl-2-aminoethanesulfonic acid, also known as CHES, is a buffering agent.
Typically appears as a white crystalline powder.
CHES buffers have a useful range of pH 8.6–10.
