2,2'-Methylenebis[(4S)-4-tert-butyl-2-oxazoline] is an asymmetric carbon compound that has been synthesized from a copper salt and an amino alcohol. It is a transition metal complex with a high yield of 95%. 2,2'-Methylenebis[(4S)-4-tert-butyl-2-oxazoline] has shown to be an effective diazoacetic reagent for the synthesis of optically active butadiene. The molecule also possesses a number of useful properties, including its ability to be used as an asymmetric carbon atom and as a transition metal salt.
