Allyl butyl ether is one of the catalyst components for the production of polypropylene. This component can increase the activity of the catalyst, improve the dyeability and antistatic properties of polypropylene, and reduce the ash content of polypropylene. Allyl butyl ether is a mixed ether. It is well known that mixed ethers can be prepared by the Wilnamson synthesis. The alkyl halide and sodium alkoxide are carried out according to the bimolecular nucleophilic substitution reaction (SN2) process. The reaction speed of the SN2 reaction is related to the concentrations of both CH2-CH-CH2Cl and CHO2-.
