Uses Hexadecane bromide was used to prepare soluble carbon nanoonions by covalent functionalization with cetyl chains. It can also be used to synthesize [2-(methacryloyloxy)ethyl]dimethylhexadecyl ammonium bromide monomer for the synthesis of new methacrylate-based adsorbents.
