cis-1,4-Cyclohexanediol is a metabolite of the side-chain of candesartan cilexetil, on digoxin-induced arrhythmias in dogs with congestive heart failure.

Cyclohexane-1,4-diol is a cyclohexane ring with a hydroxyl group at the 1 and 4 positions. Cyclohexane-1,4-diol is used to prepare hydrochloric acid in urine samples. The cyclohexane ring of this compound can undergo intramolecular hydrogen bonding with the hydroxyl group at the 1 position to stabilize its structure. This compound has been shown to have synergistic effects when combined with other compounds, such as spermatozoa or fatty acids.

Cyclohexane-1,4-diol may be produced through a reaction mechanism that involves an acid catalyzed reaction between two molecules of fatty acid. Cyclohexane-1,4-diol can also react with a polyurethane sample by hydrogen bonding to form a complex.
