Potassium hydrogen phthalate is an acid salt of organic aromatic acid phthalic acid, colorless monoclinic crystal or white crystalline powder. It is stable in air, soluble in water, and soluble in alcohol. Soluble in about 12 parts cold water, 3 parts boiling water, slightly soluble in ethanol. The solution is acidic. The pH of 0.05mol/L aqueous solution at 25℃ is 4.005.
Used as buffer for pH measurement and reference material for analysis.
