This compound also has been shown to inhibit bacterial growth by binding to the bacterial ribosome. 2-(N-Morpholino)ethanesulfonic acid monohydrate binds with malonic acid for fluorescence probe analysis and can be used as a model system for plant metabolism and redox potential.
