Description：
Sodium oxalate, or disodium oxalate, is the sodium salt of oxalic acid with the formula Na2C2O4. It is usually a white, crystalline, odorless powder, that decomposes at 250–270 °C.
Disodium oxalate can act as a reducing agent, and it may be used as a primary standard for standardizing potassium permanganate (KMnO4) solutions.
The mineral form of sodium oxalate is natroxalate. It is only very rarely found and restricted to extremely sodic conditions of ultra-alkaline pegmatites.

Application：
It is mainly used as an intermediate for the production of oxalic acid, and can also be used as a tanning agent and a masking agent for leather processing, which can enhance the alkali resistance of the complex. It is not easy to precipitate and is used as a reference for calibration of potassium permanganate solution in analytical chemistry. Used as a yellow pyrotechnic illuminator. Used as a standard material for the calibration of potassium permanganate solution. It is also a metal precipitating agent, reducing agent, complexing agent, masking agent.
