Colorless to white orthorhombic plate crystal or white crystalline weathered powder. Odorless or slightly odorless. It is extremely sweet, even in 10,000 times the aqueous solution, it is still extremely sweet, with a sweetness threshold of about 0.00048%. The sweetness in dilute solution is about 500 times that of sucrose. It tastes sweet when the concentration is dilute, and bitter when it is concentrated (greater than 0.026%), so the concentration when used alone should be less than 0.02%. When heated under acidic conditions, the sweetness disappears. And can form bitter anthranilate benzoic acid. Easily soluble in water (1g/1.5m1), slightly soluble in ethanol (1g/50m1).
Uses Non-nutritive sweetener. Used as food sweetener and diagnostic drug
