Chemical Properties Colorless to light yellow liquid. It has a coconut and iris-like aroma and a sweet beeswax-like flavor. The melting point is 10.5℃ and the boiling point is 178~180℃ (1600Pa). Insoluble in water, soluble in ethanol, slightly soluble in Chemicalbook ether. The natural product is found in the fusel oil residue obtained from molasses. Purpose GB27601996 stipulates that the edible spices are allowed to be used. Mainly used to prepare coconut and carnation flavors; also used as a solvent for spices.
