Introduction and application of CAS 114-86-3|Phenformin

Polybenzimidazole can be made into various products such as glass cloth laminates, molded plastic films, adhesives, insulating paint, foam plastics and fibers, etc. Laminates can be used in aircraft and aerospace radar radomes, printed circuit boards, etc. Also used in insulation materials, isolation layers, radiation-resistant materials, etc.

 

There are generally three methods for the preparation of polybenzimidazole: high-temperature solution polycondensation method: combining 3,3',4,4'-tetraaminobenzidine hydrochloride and diphenyl isophthalate. In the presence of a high boiling point solvent and polyphosphoric acid, react at 200°C for several hours, precipitate the polymer with water, wash and dry to obtain a prepolymer. Then it is dehydrated and cyclized at high temperature of 250-300°C to obtain polybenzimidazole. This method can easily produce high molecular weight products. Low-temperature solution polycondensation method: combine 3,3',4,4'-tetraaminobiphenyl and isophthaloyl chloride in a strong polar solvent such as dimethylacetamide, using pyridine as the acid absorbent, at low temperature (0 Below ℃), the prepolymer is obtained by polycondensation, adding a precipitant, separating, washing and drying the prepolymer, and then dehydrating and cyclizing it at a high temperature of 250-300℃ to obtain polybenzimidazole. Melt polycondensation method: Add 3,3',4,4'-tetraaminobiphenyl and diphenyl isophthalate into the reaction kettle, react at 260°C for 1-2 hours under nitrogen protection, and remove phenol to generate polyamine Polybenzimidazole can be obtained by pulverizing the amide prepolymer and then dehydrating and cyclizing it in high vacuum at 385-400°C for 3-4 hours.
