Rhenium(VII) oxide is a chemical compound that belongs to the group of transition metal oxides. It has an octahedral structure and the composition ReO3. The ReO3 unit cell contains two types of oxygen atoms: one type with a hydroxyl group, and the other type with a nitrogen atom.

Rhenium oxide has been used as a solid catalyst for the hydrogenation of fatty acids in the presence of zirconium oxide or acidic ion-exchange resins. Rhenium oxide also emits light when heated, which can be used for analytical purposes.

Rhenium(VII) oxide is the inorganic compound with the formula Re2O7. This yellowish solid is the anhydride of HOReO3. Perrhenic acid, Re2O7·2H2O, is closely related to Re2O7. Re2O7 is the raw material for all rhenium compounds, being the volatile fraction obtained upon roasting the host ore.
