Introduction of CAS:2305-25-1|ethyl 3-hydroxyhexanoate
| Ethyl 3-hydroxyhexanoate is a fatty acid ester that belongs to the class of polylactates. It is a colorless liquid with an odor reminiscent of eugenol. Ethyl 3-hydroxyhexanoate has been shown to undergo chemical reactions with diethyl succinate and ethyl bromoacetate, yielding ethyl decanoate and ethyl bromoacetate respectively. The optimal reaction conditions for this chemical conversion are: pentane as solvent, temperature at 130 °C, and pressure at 1.5 MPa. The product of this reaction is ethyl decanoate, which is used in perfumery and flavorings. |
